I made it through the first couple months of the semester unscathed and it's finally time to take a break. This past week went fairly smoothly with no real issues or major events. I attend a couple birthday parties and said my goodbyes to friends. One story of note occurred this past Friday. I only had one class early in the morning, so a hope for an early start to my four hour trek to Northern Virginia. I went to the gas station to fill up and my gas lid refused to open. It electronically unlocks when the car doors are unlocked. I tried for a good half hour to get it to open, but continuously failed. I called the Infinity maintenance division for advice. A man told me that I could unlock the fuel door from inside the truck for my model. I then proceed to remove the carpeting and siding from the trunk just to find that the man had no clue what he was talking about. Two hours later, I arrived at the Nissan dealer in Christiansburg for help. I told them my problem and walked into the waiting room. Literally five seconds later the attendant came in to tell me that the problem was fixed. The fuel door opened for the mechanic, using the same technique I had used for a half hour with no luck. He asked me if I was a new driver or had just bought the car. I told him I had owned it for eight months. He shook his head. I felt so angry/stupid. But in the end, its not that bad of a day if the worst thing that happend was a bipolar fuel door.
It has been very nice to be home for the weekend. My extended family comemorate my grandfather's 80th birthday on Saturday. Over fifty people attended the party in his celebration.
It was great to catch up with family and friends whom I hadn't seen in a couple months. Today, I overslept for my church service, so I went to Cedar Run Community Church instead. It's a nice community of people, plus the location is only five minutes from my house. I enjoyed the pastor's sermon about prayer out of Matthew 6. After church, I kind of took it easy today and chilled with the family. My dad and I worked on the LandCruiser and prepped it for a trip down to the OBX. I'll be leaving on Tuesday with a couple friends to the beach to enjoy some four-wheeling and fellowship together.
That's all for now. I'll update soon!
